It’s a different kind of election day all around Butte County — but, that doesn’t mean you still don’t have time to vote.

With the county going to vote-by-mail for today’s election, most people who were planning to vote have likely already done so. As of Friday, Butte County election official Candace Grubbs said nearly 30,000 people had already voted.

But for those who haven’t voted yet, several options remain.

First, if you are still planning to mail in your ballot, you need to do it Tuesday before your post office closes. Otherwise, your ballot won’t have today’s postmark.

However, if you’d rather hand-deliver your ballot in person, you can still do that — even though it won’t exactly be a “trip to the polling place” like in years past. Voters can drop off their ballots at voter assistance centers or at drop boxes listed in the Voter Information Guide.

There is also the drive-up drop box at North Valley Plaza, by the county office at 765 East Ave.

The voter assistance centers, which are open until 8 p.m., are located at:

In the Oroville area:

  • Lake Oroville Golf and Event Center, 1531 Royal Oaks Drive,
  • Southside Community Center, 2959 Lower Wyandotte Road,
  • Palermo Union School District, 7390 Bulldog Way.

In Chico:

  • Chico Masonic Family Center, 1110 W. East Ave.
  • Silver Dollar Fairgrounds, 2357 Fair St.
  • The Terraces, 2750 Sierra Sunrise Terrace
  • Our Divine Savior Catholic Church, 566 E. Lassen Ave.

In Paradise area:

  • Paradise Pines Owner’s Association, 14211 Wycliff Way, Magalia.

In Gridley:

  • Veteran’s Memorial Hall, 267 Sycamore St.

In Durham:

  • Veteran’s Memorial Hall, 9319 Midway.

Grubbs said the election office plans to post preliminary results on its website, www.buttevotes.net, by 8:30 p.m. Updated results will be posted by 5 p.m. Friday.
